








On 4 April 2011, the German mechanical engineering association VDMA will organise in cooperation with Deutsche Messe a reception at the first day of this year’s Hannover Messe. The keynote speech on “Open markets as the driving force of prosperity” will be delivered by EU Trade Commissioner Karel De Gucht.
The evening will start with addresses of welcome of the hosts, VDMA President Thomas Lindner and Deutsche Messe AG Chairman of the Board Wolfram von Fritsch, followed by introductory remarks by MEP Godelieve Quisthoudt-Rowohl, member of the Committee on International Trade. In his key note, EU Trade Commissioner Karel De Gucht will give an insight into current trade policy developments and answer the question how the EU will tackle the challenge of increasing protectionism. The event targets on representatives from industry and politics and will provide networking opportunities and a forum for further discussions on trade issues. More information can be found here.
